TYPICAL UNATTENDED CEREMONY:
We accept ashes worldwide for anyone wishing to make the beautiful Pacific coastline their final resting place. For whatever the reason; for those who have been here, lived here, always wanted to come here or just wanted to be laid to rest in the ocean, we are here for you.
Unless a specific date is provided all services are normally performed within
1-3 weeks of our receipt of your ashes (weather permitting). On the day of your service the vessel will depart from the Crescent City, California or Brookings, Oregon Harbor. Upon arrival at the predetermined location the Captain will bring the vessel to a rest and commence the ceremony. A blessing on behalf of the deceased will be read and the name of the deceased will be stated. The ashes are then scattered on the sea followed by any flowers if you so choose. The date, time and coordinates by GPS (global satellite positioning) will be recorded. If you decide, the service will be recorded by video and/or still photographs. The Captain will enter into the Ships Log completion of service and the vessel will return to port. A commemorative certificate stating the loved one's name, date, time and location of the ceremony will be sent to the family.
TYPICAL ATTENDED CEREMONY:
This is a one hour service and for up to 6 passengers. More time may be arranged if needed with advance notice and more participants may view from shore. Family members and friends board the vessel and proceed out of the Harbor. Once we arrive at our predetermined location the Captain will turn off the engines and at which time the ceremony may begin. If you wish, a family member or designated person may perform the ceremony or you may request the Captain to read any poems or blessings that you have selected. You may bring music if you desire (CD). The ashes are then scattered on the sea followed by flowers and/or wreath (if requested). During the ceremony, the date, time and location will be documented and the appropriate entries are made to the Ships Log. Once the ceremony is complete we will return to port.
VIEWING FROM SHORE:
There may be times when a viewing from shore is your best alternative. Castle Rock Point suits this purpose perfectly. It is close enough to where participants may view detail of the ceremony while it is taking place. Some of the families may choose the boat while others choose the shore.
