King Salmon are the most desired gamefish we have in the Monterey Bay area. We have been Sport and Commercially fishing them since 1972. Our bay has one of the largest boimass of bait anywhere in the world, bringing hungry Salmon by the thousands. April is primetime here since commercial seasons opens in May and we have a limited quota. We will run to wherever the best spot is so a Fuel surcharge may apply for 2026.

Our Boat
Taylor Gene is a well-functioning 34′ Hatteras Sportfisher with a fully-enclosed, heated cabin that keeps you dry and comfortable while traveling to and from our fishing grounds. I usually average 70-100 days of fishing per year, needless to say, I'm addicted to fishing. Fishing with Captain Joe with Chartle Charters is a blast. He knows the local Santa Cruz waters very well. Whether you're fishing for a local rockfish trip or hunting for bonito/blue fin game fish, he is my first choice. The boat has plenty of deck space to fish and comfortable ride.

Captain Gregory Gomez showed us excellent spots to catch live bait which then led him to show us exactly where we would be to catch fish. Without a doubt as soon as we cast we’re getting bites. Very clean boat, very professional, 10/10 highly recommend!
