Quality fishing plus O’neill tribute!!
Our 6 anglers were greeted to pea soup fog and a grumpy ocean. They fished hard and were rewarded with limits of jumbo black and vermilion rockfish to 5lbs, a 6lb cabezon plus an 8lb lingcod.
We of course couldn’t leave the day without gathering with other locals to pay our deepest respects to Mr. Jack O’Neill. I wish we had a better picture of the enormous crowd on the water. Last headcount I heard was over 1k people paddled out with around 5k participating from shore. It was truly an awesome and emotional time for many.
The city of Santa Cruz has declared July 7th “Jack O’neill Day”
