Fishing Report

Salmon remains the favored ticket in the Monterey Bay!

Four of our regular guests came out for a hot day of salmon fishing! They landed six good grade salmon up to 18lbs. Anchovies and whales were also abundant. The seas were calm and fog burned off by mid morning. Give us a call to reserve your trip because now is the time to go…

Salmon bite turns red hot in the Monterey Bay!!!

We ran down to moss landing this morning to do some salmon fishing. We got into action immediately. The fish stayed with the boat all day. Our guests ended up with 8 big salmon to 18lbs. We lost as many as we caught. Light gear on the surface. Truly a world class salmon bite. And…

Halibut fishing continues to be the favorite…

Another great day halibut fishing on the Taylor Gene. Today we caught 9 halibut to 15lbs. In addition to the limits of halibut, we added a couple real nice lingcod to the mix. Come get some while they’re biting! The weather is great and the fishing is better. Air temp was 75’ with water temp…

Family fun in the sun today! While fishing near Capitola we landed 3 nice Halibut, a few Lingcod and some big brown rockfish. We then turned our energy over to the sharks where we encountered 4 great whites. It was very exciting and something this family will not soon forget. The weather was sunny and…

Halibut is on the menu!!!

Often the beginning of summer is slow for us as people prepare for the end of the school year and begin planning their family summer adventures but that doesn’t mean we ain’t fishing. The sad part is we’re commercial harvesting your potential catch! Yesterday we landed 7 of these beauties up to 25lbs and we’re…

Live bait for our nearshore group today..

Had a great day on the water with the kids today. We caught some beautiful lingcod to 12lbs, backed by some quality rockfish. Live bait proved to be the ticket. Air was 63’ while water was 58’

Lots of catching on this “catch and release” trip..

Today’s charter of 4 anglers had great fishing despite the cold weather. They caught 50+ rockfish to 5 lbs and released all but 10. John had an epic battle on a 13 lb lingcod. Air was 53 and water 52.

Lingcod/Rockfish continue!!

Our 6 anglers gave salmon a good try this morning but not being able to find any salmon anywhere or any being reported, we opted to try the rockfish. This turned out to be a great decision. Our guests boated 60 nice olive, black and blue Rockfish to 3lbs. Plus the crew had limits as…

Salmon bite slows, Lingcod appears to be the golden ticket!!

Initially our bachelor party wanted salmon but due to the high volume of commercial salmon fishing the bite really slowed. (Expected to pick up next week) So we decided to go out and hit the deep rockfish grounds. We caught some beautiful lingcod to 18 lbs and quality copper rockfish. Tried for salmon on our…

Another banner day on the Taylor-Gene

Another banner day on the Taylor-Gene. After pulling huge rockfish up two at a time we switched over for lingcod. We were lucky enough to catch 4 big ones to 15#. When the wind came up we switched into salmon mode for the ride home. We trolled and caught a hog. Biggest fish of the…
