Fishing Report

5 Anglers, 14 Lingcod + assortment of Rockfish!!

Our charter today consisted of a vacationing family renting a local beach house and they had a “Great day!” They were treated with flat, calm seas along with high overcast skies and rewarded with 14 Lingcod upto 15lbs. They also boated an assortment of rockcod to 4lbs.

General fishing remains good with occasional Halibut showing. Salmon remain elusive.

Busyness (yes that’s a word) is to blame for the 4 in 1 fishing report tonight but sometimes that’s just how it goes.. Thursday 6/18 we boated 8 lingcod out of 24 hooked, releasing 16 along with a boatload of black and red rockfish. Our lingcod was upto 12lbs. The weather was overcast with calm…

Awesome livebait fishing with great weather..

Our family of 2 dads & 3 sons had a great day on the Bay! After heading out to catch their bait, they enjoyed at least 3 hours of steady action landing 20+ Lingcod while deciding to keep 11. The seas were flat calm with high overcast- keeping everyone nice and cool. Brian’s fish getting…

Salmon show in The Bay!!!!!

Today was the first sign of any solid numbers in regards to Salmon. Moss Landing seems to be the end of the rainbow for many boats as numbers ranged from 20 to 40 per commercial boat. The time to book is now as who knows how it will be next week.

Commercial fishing produces 32 Lingcod.

Today’s fishing sent us North of Davenport and while using live mackerel secured 32 Lingcond upto 27lbs. Other than a few raindrops, conditions were great.. Salmon have consistently remained in the Bay however numbers remain inconsistent..

4 anglers with 11 Lingcod + Halibut..

Despite feeling a little woozy Pierce had a great time landing this 25lb Halibut!! Another shot with a proud Pierce! Will holds up a nice Ling! Our charter today had an amazing day.. Using live bait they were able to land over a couple dozen Lingcod up to 20lbs.. They released many and choose to…

4 Anglers, 8 Lingcod up to 14lbs..

Fun has definitely had today aboard the Taylor-Gene. Our 4 anglers had good action landing 8 Lingcod up to 14lbs and kept 4.  We used live mackerel for bait, weather was beautiful with calm seas.

Scattered landings of Salmon seen throughout Bay

Salmon remains slow with landings scattered throughout the Bay.  Lingcod fishing is great and rockfish is good. Halibut should start to show any day. The weather on the ocean is flat calm with a little breeze near town. We have a few openings left for this Memorial Day weekend.

Salmon bite appears to be picking up…

Just in time for Memorial day weekend the Salmon seem to be showing up in decent numbers. Anglers landed 1-3 Salmon a boat in local waters.  While the Lingcod and Rockfishing remain strong, winds are picking up heavy in the afternoon and best to get out early.

And the wait goes on….

If you are waiting for the elusive Salmon bite to appear, you are most definitely not alone.. What I can tell you now is that Salmon are coming in at 0-10 fish per commercial vessel. No one that we are aware of is sport fishing Salmon. Millions of fish have been planted and they have yet to land any where else along the coast in any high numbers so it should just be a matter of time. Additionally once they do arrive it may be short and fast so be prepared. If weather allows we will run double trips to accommodate the need. In the mean time we continue to offer live bait Lingcod trips. Lingcod are a great alternative game fish.

Limits of Lingcod, jumbo black & grass rockfish + Cabezone!

Our private charter of 4 anglers had an awesome day enjoying flat calm conditions and red hot fishing!! They boated limits (12) of Lingcod upto 18lbs along with jumbo black and grass Rockfish upto 5lbs plus a bonus Cabezone!!

5 anglers with Limits of Lingcod

Our 5 angers today enjoyed limits of Lingcod up to 15lbs with an average of 10lbs..The Live bait season is here and on!!!!
